Last Friday the Lady Foxes Softball team traveled to community for their district opener. Fortunately after battling seven innings they were able to secure a 7-5 win putting them ahead in district with a 1-0 record. Throughout the game the girls faced struggles in baserunning and in some cases just hitting the ball. But in the fourth inning they turned on the gas. This is the inning that Cheridan Miller was able to kick off with a walk up Homerun. After that burst of momentum the team gained energy and excitement. Through the end of the game our defense held steady as well. In fact there were two major double plays that affected the outcome of the game. One included a line drive to Josie Jenkins caught in the air and then darted to Macie Bailey tagging at second. And also a hard ground ball to Macie Bailey darting to Josie Summers at first and then Summers throwing down to Rylie Ingram for the tag out at home. Both of these plays played major roles in effect of the game. With many other plays throughout the night Lady Foxes played strongly from start to finish. Although the game scheduled against Fort Worth has been canceled the girls plan to travel to Quinlan this Friday March 15 to take home yet another win. Come support the girls on their journey to a district chamionship!
